These wheels should NOT be dressed
aggressively like resin or metal bonds.
They have a porous ceramic vitrified
bond. This bond has its own built in
chip clearance. Aggressive or normal
dressing is NOT necessary.
After truing, a VERY LIGHT short
dressing is sometimes necessary.
During truing, the CBN mesh (grit)
becomes flat spotted. Grind some
scrap hardened steel to condition
these particles. When using a
diamond truing nib or block, only
true the wheel until one continuous
band is made so as not to flat spot
the entire surface of the wheel.
Remember to keep your coolants
rich at an 8 to 1 or 10 to 1 ratio. CBN
wheels must have a lubricic coolant
to aid in curling the steel chips.
